They are going to have company in Florida. The Mennonites have been in Southern California working on homes that were destroyed in the Cedar Fire in October of 2003. They are going to Florida to help people rebuild. They did not pick and chose from their own and they work hard.

Thanks Blondie and Confusedjw,
That answered the question about having to die as well. But it does raise another question or two.
When that man was reinstated into the congregation, what was his hope? Had he lost the heavenly calling, and had his hope now been changed to everlasting life on earth? No, for the earthly hope is not, as it were, a second-chance prospect. Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham and multitudes of other persons of outstanding faith had the hope of eternal life on earth, but this was not because they failed to measure up to the heavenly calling. They simply did not live in the time when the heavenly calling was in process according to Jehovah?s will. (Heb. 10:19, 20) Comparable faith and integrity are required of all who will gain everlasting life, whether in heaven or on a paradise earth. A Christian who is anointed with holy spirit and made a joint heir with Christ must prove faithful to that calling if he is to receive eternal life at all.?Rev. 2:10, 11; Phil. 3:8-14; Rom. 8:14-17.
It sounds to me that if you were living from 30 AD to 1935 AD that this was the time of heavenly calling and that if you were not part of that they was no other hope. So there is no earthly hope for anyone that lived during that time. Yet out of that time frame there were few people that had a heavenly hope.
Is this to say that if an anointed Christian is disfellowshiped, Jehovah then and there selects a replacement? No human can say that, for we cannot know if the disfellowshiped individual has committed the unforgivable sin. Jehovah knows, and so the matter can be left in his hands. Just how and when he chooses to select a replacement is for him to decide. He did not give a detailed discussion of the matter in the Bible. So rather than speculate on what He will do or try to guess whether a disfellowshiped person is beyond the possibility of repentance, we can leave the matter up to Jehovah, the righteous Judge.?Heb. 12:23.
Does this mean that there is no free well, since Jehovah knows before the end.

Best Bible Translation?
by mywifeisaJW inmy wife has been a jw for about 10 years (we have been married 15 years).
over the years i have tried various strategies to deal with this, which i won't go into here...except that i have agreed to "read the bible" with my wife...and i get to pick the translation.. what translation would be best recommended to help highlight the errors of the nwt and jw thinking in general?
i have seen here that today's english version has been recommended...anything else?

Just a thought that might help. When you get ready to study with your wife post the book and chapters. You will probably get more info on what to be aware of that you wife might try and present from the WTS and how to respond.

Neo, So for every Anointed that was baptist after 1935 (or at least from 1970) an Anointed must have fallen away. Thanks for the reply. Triple A
Just another question, If an Anointed One falls away and is replaced. What happens if they return to the WTS? Do they come as part of the Great Crowd or an Anointed One?

WhyGeorgia?
the comment you made: I think the NIV is the simpleton's bible and is not thought of well by the JW's so why even go there and I'm sure you already know what they say about the KJV...ugggh!
I was just curious as to why you made this statement, because I think it is as good as the NWT...again just curious!
=)I would like to see the answer to this question from Eyebrow2.

Welcome Lost,
Most here are ex-JWs, but some of us have never been. But I would suspect that those of us that were not have still been affected in some way by the WTS.
I have a suggestion for you when reading WTS literture. On a pad of paper draw three columns and at the top write these three headings. God Glorifying, WTS Glorifying, and Christendom Hate.
Under each column - put a check mark, page number, and/or paragraph number when you read something that falls in one of the categories.
God Glorifying - would be anything that talks only of God and what He does or cares about us. How he wants to have a personal relationship with you. Be careful, there are many statements that sound God Glorifying that the WTS uses to point to themselves. In which case your mark should go into the next column.
WTS/Faithful and Descrete Slave (FDS) Glorifying - would be anything that talks about how you have to belong to the organization, follow the FDS, that you can only come to God through the FDS, or anything else that they write about themselves.
Christendom Hate - IF you talk to your study leader about this site, you will most like get a reaction something like, "Why should I read that HATE lititure?" Check off how many anti-Christendom statements they make. You will also find that intermixed here is WTS Glorifying statements.
Sometimes you will find it hard to decide which column to mark, I would mark both and than draw a circle around them so that I know there was only one statement, but was tied to two marks. I beleive you will find that the WTS Glorifying column will out pace the other two. You will have to ask yourself this question, "Who do the Jehovah's Witnesses truely worship?"
As the others suggested, do your research when you read the Bible look for how God wants a personal relationship with you.
Best wishes in your search and again welcome, Triple A

Somewhere I read that for a "Anointed One" to be replaced, the original Anointed One had to die apostate. Can anyone help me with this.
If no one can tell if the above is correct, can anyone say that it is incorrect?
